چکیده

As global temperatures rise due to climate change, crops are becoming increasingly vulnerable to failure. We tested the accessibility of thermodynamic phenotypic diversity within limited positional changes using 2 9 =512 mutants of a terpene synthase (TPS), Tobacco 5-epi-Aristolchene synthase. First, we measured the thermal unfolding curves of each mutant and found that mutations shifted the T m s both higher and lower, including a cohort of mutants that failed to fold. The low correlation coefficient between the T m s of these mutants and the proportions of each terpene product output by the enzymes revealed that thermostability and product output are independent traits. Maximum Noise Entropy analyses were used to analyze the impact of the 9 mutational positions on thermostability, revealing that three of these positions were mainly responsible for the trait of increased T m . These positions form a functional network as measured by the nonlinearity of their combined effects on thermostability. Unexpectedly, the strongly destabilizing positions combine nonlinearly to ameliorate each other’s deleterious effects resulting in a synergistic dampening. Taken together, our study shows the high potential peer-reviewed) is the author/funder. All rights reserved. No reuse allowed without permission. Spatial Simulation and Land-subsidence Susceptibility Mapping Using Maximum Entropy Model

The aim of this research is spatial Simulation and land subsidence susceptibility mapping using maximum entropy model in Jiroft and Anbarabad Townships. At first, land subsidence locations were recognized using extensive field surveys and subsequently the land subsidence distribution map was made in the geographic information system. Then, each of effective factors on land subsidence occurred i...

Tsallis Maximum Entropy Lorenz Curves

In this paper, at first we derive a family of maximum Tsallis entropy distributions under optional side conditions on the mean income and the Gini index. Furthermore, corresponding with these distributions a family of Lorenz curves compatible with the optional side conditions is generated. Meanwhile, we show that our results reduce to Shannon entropy as $beta$ tends to one. Finally, by using ac...

Maximum Entropy Analysis for G/G/1 Queuing System (TECHNICAL NOTE)

This paper provides steady state queue-size distribution for a G/G/1 queue by using principle of maximum entropy. For this purpose we have used average queue length and normalizing condition as constraints to derive queue-size distribution. Our results give good approximation as demonstrated by taking a numerical illustration. In particular case when square coefficient of variation of inter-arr...

Determination of Maximum Bayesian Entropy Probability Distribution

In this paper, we consider the determination methods of maximum entropy multivariate distributions with given prior under the constraints, that the marginal distributions or the marginals and covariance matrix are prescribed. Next, some numerical solutions are considered for the cases of unavailable closed form of solutions. Finally, these methods are illustrated via some numerical examples.

Fault diagnosis of gearboxes using LSSVM and WPT

This paper concentrates on a new procedure which experimentally recognises gears and bearings faults of a typical gearbox system using a least square support vector machine (LSSVM). Two wavelet selection criteria Maximum Energy to Shannon Entropy ratio and Maximum Relative Wavelet Energy are used and compared to select an appropriate wavelet for feature extraction. The fault diagnosis method co...

Ortholog detection using the reciprocal smallest distance algorithm.

All protein coding genes have a phylogenetic history that when understood can lead to deep insights into the diversification or conservation of function, the evolution of developmental complexity, and the molecular basis of disease. One important part to reconstructing the relationships among genes in different organisms is an accurate method to find orthologs as well as an accurate measure of ...
